Law No. 96/2025 “On Whistleblowing and the Protection of Whistleblowers” introduces a comprehensive framework for reporting legal violations and strengthens protection against retaliation in both the public and private sectors. The new law aligns Albania’s legislation with EU Directive 2019/1937 and expands the categories of individuals eligible for protection.

This Newsletter highlights the key changes introduced by the new law, including the establishment of whistleblowing units and reporting channels, enhanced confidentiality safeguards, broader protection measures, the role of ILDKPKI, and the compliance obligations applicable to public authorities and private entities.
